Welcome to the Complementary Health Register
This
register is operated by the International Academy of Alternative
Psychology and Therapy (IAAPT), a voluntary regulator
of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapists
and an accrediting and awarding organisation.
We seek
to increase public confidence in all qualified, competent
and insured CAM therapists / practitioners in the UK.

Raison d'être
Our raison d'être is to safeguard the public
by registering only those therapists that are, in the public's
view, qualified competent and insured. We also list as many
as we are told about or are able to source from information
in the public domain.
The regulatory function we perform is
based on the recommendations of the House of Lords Select
Committee on Science and Technology in their Sixth Report.
IAAPT is a Community Interest Company formed in 2008, regulated
by the Regulator of Community Interest Companies and recognised
as an Independent Voluntary Regulator by the Advertising
Standards Authority.
It is our mission to provide a unified
collaborative register and be a consumer advocate for therapists.
We achieve both aims by providing this Register. It is our
view that all professionals should be Qualified, Competent
and Insured and the register provides those details.
